The kickoff planning for the 2025 Charity Classic was held today in a secure undisclosed location (The Berkowitz office in Boca) with a high powered BOD and our Guest of Honor (Identity blurred for OPSEC). This is year 10! It's gonna be something else. Clues will be forth coming.
We also learned that a random conversation at the 24 Classic led to the saving of a Marine, by stopping him from taking his own life. We are saving lives.
April 11, 2025. Mark it down. Get in the fight. Packages coming out soon. Prior sponsors have first dibs on what may be the most EPIC ever. And that is saying something!
contact jim@sflcc.org for any questions or to pre-reserve.

On behalf of The South Florida Charity Classic, Alan Mack was proud to present a check to the Night Stalker Foundation in New York City at the 9-11 Memorial Park. Bill Golden, Chairman of the Foundation, thanked SFCC donors and supporters for the generous donation. The Night Stalker Foundation will use these funds to support their family resiliency programs, scholarships, as well as gold star family members.
On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 8 days after his 100th birthday and 5 days after the 80 year anniversary of D-Day, our dear friend, patriot and American hero, Norman William (“Bill”) Schwartz passed away peacefully at home. Bill is survived by his daughter, Debra, and son, Gary.
We often speak of celebrating their life after a person passes, but Bill seemed to celebrate life nearly every day of his. Bill had grown up in rural New Jersey, an adventurous child and adolescent who raced cars (like in actual racing competitions), learned to fly, and performed aerial stunts in a traveling air show, all before he was even old enough to join the military.
After the attacks on Pearl harbor, Bill, like so many of his generation who were underaged, forged his parents’ signature and signed up to fight for freedom. Bill served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, most notably leading troops in the first wave of the D-Day Normandy invasion at Omaha Beach. Bill went on to earn 3 Purple Hearts and serve in the constabulary force in Europe after V-E day.
Also like so many of his brothers, returning home after the war was a difficult period of adjustment, with the thoughts of the men he lost and enemy soldiers he killed haunting him. Bill went on to lead a successful and lucrative series of business ventures, married and raised a family, and even held local political office for a time.
Bill never talked about the war, not even to his wife. At the age of 90, Bill finally agreed to fly on an Honor Flight, an experience that changed the relationship he had with his time in the war and he went on to serve as a spokesperson and ambassador for the local South Florida chapter. We had the honor of having Bill at our Charity Classic event in 2023, where he left our Guest of Honor, Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill, in awe during their meeting.
Bill dedicated much of his life to learning (he was a member of Mensa) and philanthropy, giving both time and treasure to several meaningful causes and organizations in his life. Bill was a special man who left an indelible mark on all our lives.
The Classic Committee is proud to announce the Guest of Honor joining us on April 19, 2024 for the NINTH CLASSIC!!
We dropped a couple of clues along the way…
“Kites are cute, but they suck to fly through at 220 MPH!”

Our special Guest of Honor is:
Who is this incredible American we will spend the day with?
Alan C. Mack, CW5 (US Army, retired)
The attacks of September 11, 2001, prompted the creation of a new and deadly Spec-Ops force: Task Force Dagger.
Al, callsign Razor 03, led a team of MH-47E helicopters and armed MH-60s on a series of clandestine special operations, some still too classified to talk about in an open forum (another reason to talk to him in person!).
SAVE THE DATE!
Grab your spot! Prior sponsors have first shot! We expect another sell out. Yeah. We’re like Metallica and Taylor Swift. We sell out. Always.
April 19th, 2024 is locked and loaded for the 9th Annual Classic.
Our Guest Of Honor has accepted, and we will be dripping out clues – here is the first…

Another year and another great charity classic is in the books! An amazing event with many great memories, and a record-breaking amount raised for the veterans. This year we surpassed all expectations and raised over $185,000 for the foundations we support. As always we could never have done this without the great support from our partners, and those who attend the charity classic.
With Humble Gratitude

Thanks to Kevin Sonsky, one of our Committee members, we have the amazing honor and privilege of welcoming a VERY SPECIAL GUEST to our event on April 7th.
Joining us on April 7 is D-Day Veteran Norman "Bill" Schwartz, who won three purple hearts and as a Captain in the US Army led more than 1,000 troops in the first wave of the Normandy invasion at Omaha Beach.
Bill turns 99 this year and recalls his trip with Honor Flight, who will also be at the tournament, with great fondness. Come stop by to say hello to yet another American hero and learn more about the Honor Flight program. ( https://www.ww2online.org/view/bill-schwartz )
Charity Classic Co-Founder Jim Duffy with this year's Guest of Honor Robert O'Neill at a charity function last night in Ft Lauderdale. Plotting and scheming for this year's charity classic. It's going to be EPIC!

On September 11, 2001, 19 militants from Al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States.
Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which triggered major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and is a defining moment of our century.
It is a great privilege, that today in honor and memory of September 11th, the Classic Committee announces the 2023 Guest of Honor.
Joining us on April 7th, 2023 will be Robert J. O’Neill, (US Navy SEAL, Ret) the American Warrior that fired the shots that killed Osama Bin Laden, the evil mastermind behind the attacks.
Robert J. O’Neill is one of the most highly decorated combat veterans of our time. He served at SEAL Team Two, SEAL Team Four and eight years at the legendary SEAL Team Six.
Having taken part in and leading over 400 combat missions. He was decorated 53 times, including two Silver Stars for gallantry in action against the enemy, four Bronze Stars with Valor to denote heroism against the enemy,
Three Presidential Unit Commendations and three Combat Action ribbons to name a few.
Rob took part in the rescue for Operation Red Wings, which extracted the Lone Survivor, Marcus Luttrell.
He was the lead jumper for the rescue operation that saved Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates and a Team Leader for Operation Neptune’s Spear, the mission to kill Osama bin Laden.
Rob is the co-founder of Special Operators Transition Foundation, which assists Special Operations Forces veterans with the successful transition from the service into their next great career in corporate America.
He is the author of the Best Selling Memoir THE OPERATOR: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years as a SEAL Team Warrior.
Rob is a frequent guest on Fox News, CNN, CBS, Newsmax and others.

Save the Date! Postpone the Wedding. Cancel the Apocalypse!
We have exciting news!
Several sponsors have Re-enlisted for another year.
Mission BBQ will be feeding you, hungry golfers, after a long day of missing 2 foot putts and shanking balls into the lakes. IT’s hard work. Thanks again Bill and the MBBQ Team.

When the BIG REVEAL is made, prior sponsors will have a 2 week window to sign up. Others will be put on the “waiting list” that opens after that. BTW – we already about 45% committed from prior sponsors beating down our door.
So do not delay.
The BIG REVEAL is coming soon, (probably next week) but for now…yet…another clue.

The most prestigious and awesome Golf Charity event in the entire known Galaxy - The 8th Annual South Florida Charity Classic - will be held on April 7th, 2023!
We have locked-up our Guest of Honor (GOH) and it’s a doozy! Trust us. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS. We had to do CPR on Private Chadam. And hit him with a taser. Unnecessary, but fun.
This event is so big, it could cause a shift in the earth’s gravity, the moon to nudge out of orbit, a wormhole to another dimension to open, California to go RED and Hunter Biden to become an honest man. Okay – that may be impossible. We are betting on the wormhole.
It’s early and HOT, but nothing will be HOTTER than YOUR ticket to the 8th Classic! We expect them to be in the Metaverse as NFT’s. (We don’t really know what the Metaverse is, but you get the point)
Prior Sponsors get FIRST DIBS on spots. Sponsorship packages are being finalized, but this is SOOO BIG, it’s taking some time to get them…just right.
We will reveal the GOH soon, but rest assured….WOWZA!!!
Here is a hint..
The GOH once XXXXXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXXXXX and also XXXXXXXXXXX . Then ________ so they XXXXXXXXXXX .
(Redacted by the DOD).
If you are interested, let us know and you will be placed on the most important list you will ever be on.
